Am I eligible?
To get all the support described in this offer you have to be a ‘former relevant child’.
This normally means you were in care for 13 weeks after the age of 14 and at least one day when you were 16.
To get some of the support described in this offer, you can also be a ‘qualifying child’.
This is a bit different, and means you are still a care leaver. You still have to have been in care on at least on day when you were 16, but you might have returned home to your family, been given a Special Guardianship Order, or been in care for less than 13 weeks.
This quick questionnaire is useful for working out whether you are a care leaver, and what type:

If you are unsure about your status, speak to your social worker, leaving care support officer, or contact us at on our duty email at dutycicclt@newcastle.gov.uk. We know it can be complicated sometimes!
This Local Offer is just for young people who were in care with Newcastle City Council. If you were in care with another council, they will have their version of a local offer.
